How we got here

.We never thought we would be a camping family. We always enjoying spending time outdoors, but never thought much about camping. All that changed when our son turned eight years old. When asked how he wanted to celebrate his birthday, he thought for 37 seconds and said, “ I want to go camping!” For the next two weeks, I researched all the things needed for tent camping and purchased even more. As we celebrated that birthday in a tent, we all fell in love with camping. We loved that our daughter and son were outside, on bikes, throwing rocks in the creek, reading books, and actually enjoying each other. It slowed us down, taught us all new things, and showed us a new way to have adventures.

After a few years of tent camping, we dreamed of buying a camper. We started small just to make sure we could learn the ins and outs of a camper. Our pop-up camper was old, the door was not straight, and it was difficult to set up. But, we LOVED not sleeping on the ground. We loved having a small place to wash dishes, make meals and coffee, and keep our clothes dry. Each camp trip, we had the best time. We crammed as many memories as we could into each trip. In fact, that is where Cramming Memories began. I realized our time is short with our kids, so I wanted to cram memories into our time together. I began tagging our photos with #crammingmemories when I posted to social media. I guess it kinda stuck.

Here we are, many years, and many campers later, still cramming memories into our days. The kids are grown, but are quick to tell us their favorite memories always include some new place we visited on a camping trip. These days it’s just me and Scott camping, so the RV has gotten smaller, but the adventures have gotten a little bigger. When we’re not camping, we’re watching RV videos, we’re going to camper stores, we’re planning dream trips, or just sitting around the campfire at home. If you’re here, chances are you like those things as well. Pull up a camp chair, we’re glad to meet you! Welcome To Cramming Memories.
